I've installed DNN; with these settings:

  <connectionStrings>
    <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2005 Express
    <add
      name="SiteSqlServer"
      connectionString="Data Source=.\SQLExpress;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|Database.mdf;"
      providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />
    -->
    <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2000/2005   -->
    <add
      name="SiteSqlServer"
      connectionString="Server=.\SQLExpress;Database=CMS;uid=sa;pwd=pwd;"
      providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />

  </connectionStrings>

 <appSettings>
    <add key="InstallationDate" value="03/27/2006"/>
    <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2005 Express - kept for backwards compatability - legacy modules
    <add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Data Source=.\SQLExpress;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|Database.mdf;"/>
    -->
    <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2000/2005 - kept for backwards compatability - legacy modules -->
    <add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Server=.\SQLExpress;Database=CMS;uid=sa;pwd=pwd;"/>
    <add key="InstallTemplate" value="DotNetNuke.install.config" />

But when I try to access to admin or host area (admin admin or host host) I see the same page without errors.... I dont' know if is this the problem, but in Home Page I see only the links, sponsors, books box without info (empty box)... but I can see the DB ad the tables in SQL Server Express.

Thanks for help me!

I have the same problem also. It gives me a "logout" option where log in was, doesn't display the username of the logged in user, and won't allow any editing of modules, nor display the "admin" or "host" menus. I can only figure it is not recognising the user correctly (as the name is not displayed). This is on SQL 2005 Express, I have deleted the database and created a new (empty) one. Dotnetnuke runs it's install procedure. I click on "Access your portal" and it looks ok, except after logging in as host or admin there is no extra functionality.
