MY DNN install got "banged up" when attempting to install a skin. I tried to fix the skin but it did not work. I was told to update DNN. But there was a mis-understanding and now my install is banged up. I would like to use my existing web.config for my new install. Could I overwite the 5.0 install with a 4.9 install or even another install of 5.0? My goal is to overwrite the damaged files that are causing my skins to be distorted.

I'm checking with the hosting company now to see if that's possible. There may not be a back up.  I don't mind a reinstall. Can I use the same web.cofig is I use the same database?

if your backup has gone, you might need to restart with blank install and database. there is no great advance of using same web.config.

Pray to have a backup and assure to have it next time!

I did not install DNN. For some reason I could never understand how to setup the web.config. That's why I want to use the one that someone setup for me. If I use the existing web.config and overwrite the files with a full install. Will it work?
