Can someone please help me figure out how to remove this domain forwarding from my website forums?!

My website is: <removed by moderator>

If you click on one of the messages you get forwarded to a hacker website.

Is there anyway I can delete these messages without looking at them, bc as of now I am unable to even view the message in dnn.

This will require editing the forum posts directly in the database.  Do you have access (and skill) to manipulate your database using Enterprise Manager (or SQL Server Management Studio)?

You can also use the SQL module of your site.  You might try this to have a look at the records before deleting them (lists last posts in each thread after 1/1/09:

select*
from forum_posts fp, forum_threads ft
where fp.threadid = ft.threadid
and fp.postid = ft.lastpostedpostid
and fp.createddate >'2009-01-01'
order by ft.forumid, ft.threadid asc

And then I would use the forum's stored procedure for deleting the individual posts which can be called using the following format:

EXEC Forum_Post_Delete @PostID INT, @ModID INT, @Notes NVARCHAR(1024), @PortalID INT

Which I am sure is clear as mud... but I suspect there will be some follow-up here to help you :)

Cheers,
Scott

you will also need to identify, how your site got affected - this does not necessarily have to through DNN, in fact, it is more likely that the hacker used a vulnerability in FTP or custom ASP versions. You should check all the web server environment.

Hi Scott,

Thanks for the post.

Currently, I do not have access to manipulate the database as I am only an administrator of this particular portal. I am assuming the Is there some other way I can solve this without having to get the dnn installation admin in involved?

Thanks,

Kelly
