I am doing a somewhat recursive RSS feed on my site.  I have an Announcements page that carries news articles and I have it syndicated.  I also have added to my front page an RSS Feed Module with the syndication from the Announcements page.  It works about half the time....  I keep getting the following error or no information at all: Feed 'http://www.stspeterandpaul-tulsa.org/ParishNews/tabid/67/moduleid/374/language/en-US/RSS.aspx' could not be loaded. Error: The element 'channel' has incomplete content. List of possible elements expected: 'title, link, description, language, copyright, managingEditor, webMaster, pubDate, lastBuildDate, category, generator, docs, cloud, ttl, image, textInput, skipHours, skipDays, rating, item' as well as any element in namespace '##other'.

Am I doing something wrong or is there really a problem?

Does anybody have an answer?  It still doesn't do it all the time but it still does it at times.  Also, sometimes it just displays 1 story when there are 2- so far.  I know I may be asking a stupid question, but I want to know if it is something I am doing or there really is a problem.  I am running DNN 4.9.0 if that helps.

Try unchecking the Use Ajax checkbox in the News module's settings area.  Also, after adding content, access the site with the Host (Super User) account, and go to the Search Admin option.  Then, click the 'Re-Index Content' link to force a new search of the site's content.

See if that helps, and let us know.

I did as you said and this seems to have worked for now.  Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to help a newbie.  Sometimes it is SOOOO hard to get a response from anyone on these forums that it makes me not want to ask anything for fear of looking stupid.

JJ,

Glad I could offer help.  The forums are watched by a lot of folks, but if you look closely, there's a much smaller subset of folks that participate.  This has always been the case, not only on this forum, but on many public tech forums.  For my part, I mainly watch for points dealing with syndication, as that's my particular pet focus.  Others have their own, so many times a thread will go unanswered for a bit, until someone can get to it.  As you said, it's hard to manage support here with my responsibilities for my consulting work, and my 'day' gig, though I try.

As for being worried that any question would make you look 'stupid', don't worry about that either.  If it can be done wrong, I've done it, but I think that's why I've learned so much in the end.  All of us start a newbies, there's no shame in it.  Learning DNN's framework is a huge undertaking, but most folks here, gladly assist.

Cheers
