Hi Ajay,

Did you look at the resources Ernst peter suggested? Also, it is probably worth you looking at Michael Washington's site, he tends to have plenty of How To guides on there. Rather than posting in the Events forum on general coding topics, it's probably worth you posting in the Extend It (VS2008) forum.

Cheers
Roger

Thanks for reply.

I am trying to add a field to the Events module. I am able to display that field in the form i.e. I am able to change the .ascx file, but I need to save the value of newly added field to sql. I made changes to include that field in the SQL Table and in the stored procedure to insert that value into the table. But I am unable to find the code where the parameters are passed to EventsSave stored procedure.

It would be great if some one could help. Thanks,

:Ajay

Hi Ajay,

Have you downloaded and installed the source version of the module into Visual Studio 2008? If not, then you need to do this. If you don't know how to do this, then you need to start with the documentation that Ernst Peter suggested.

Regards
Roger

Hi,

I downloaded the source file, and the code I was looking for is present in the resources zipped file. When you unzip the file it has a solution file, when I opened the solution file some of the files were missing. So I was not able to make changes to the files and generate a new changed dll for me.
You can see how my solution file looks like in the following screenshot,

Events Source

It would have generated a Dotnetnuke.Modules.Events dll file but since the solution shows missing file I am not able to build the source code for it. I want to change the source in the EditEvents.ascx.vb page and then build to get the new dll file.
Can somebody please help me to build a changed source for the events module.

Thanks in advance,

:Ajay

Hi Ajay,

None of the files are missing from the zip. You need to install the source file the same as any module, this will put all the files in the right place to enable you to work on them. Once you have installed the source into your DNN site, you may then open the solution file.
