I have downloaded DotNetNuke_05.00.00_Install.zip and tried to setup a clean installation and got the error "

Object reference not set to an instance of an object."  By enabling debug mode in the web.config i got the source error any ideas how to solve this problem.

Thanks in advance!

Make sure you copied all the files across from the ZIP file (sometimes this does not happen because of the ZIP applications security features). That's my first hunch.

Check your permissions (make sure they recurse down to every file, or child object).

Otherwise tell us exactly which point you get the error within the install wizard (if you get that far).

Ah and make sure you select the "Minimal Extasy" skin and container during install.

Has anyone gotten anywhere with this one. The same exact thing happens to me. I installed fine at a host site, but get this error on my local machine when trying to install. I get the error immediately after hitting "Go" in my IE browser. I think I have the proper setup, IIS, SQL Server, permissions to the Website dir, etc. I sure would love to solve this issue in order to debug and program on my local site.
