The short of this problem is I upgraded to veriosn 5 which did not work. I went to restore and restored the database and went to restore the files and found it was not complete. I have been able to piece everything back to gether and the site is operation (for the most part) accept that I cannot login. Error message below:

A critical error has occurred.
Could not load the assembly 'DotNetNuke.Authentication.ActiveDirectory'. Make sure that it is compiled before accessing the page.

At this point I would like to just get back to the Default DNN Authentication and reinstall the Active Directory Provider. However my attempts have not met with success and now am asking for a little hand holding. Anyone have the time to help unravel this would be appriceiated.

Go into the DB and make sure DNN Authentication is active ("true") and AD is inactive ("false").  If your issue is ONLY with AD authentication then this might be enough to get you logging in again.
