Hi All, I've been struggling to install a module I created with the Starter Kit, version 5.01.01 for a while now. I followed instructions on every blog / youtube video / tutorial I could find, and it all failed when it actually came to adding the newly created module to a page. A fresh install of DNN5, create the module, add to the home page... and nothing would appear. I could add any other module, just not the one I've created. So I took to invetigating, and after a long search in the database, I notices that all the enteries were present in the database, but it wasn't displaying in vw_Modules View. The reason... it has a where clause where controlkey is null. I'd been entering something within the Key text box when adding the module controls. I deleted the existing module definiation, created a new one, added the view file again, without the Key textbox being completed, and then added this to my home page... and it appeared!!! So, two things: Firstly, why is the control key field filtered by null values in the view? That is what stops modules from being loaded to a page, Secondly to everyone that is struggling to add a module to their pages, DO NOT use the key field. Just the title. Hope this helps save some people some time, I've spent since Friday last week trying to work out where I was going wrong! Regards, John
