Hi, I've build a couple of DNN websites using a variety of modules that create forms and access an MSSQL database. I'm now building a site that requires more customization/functionality than I can get out of the modules I've used or can find. (IndooGrid & a couple of others). I need to build some pages that have user controls, CRUD to the database and some simple workflow. What's the best way to go about this? Should I build .asp pages and access them through an iframe module? Should I build a custom module and load that to the site? Looking to more experienced DNN developers for some direction.

Thanks. All help is appreciated.

it's much better to create your own dotnetnuke modules , if you use asp pages then they don't take advantage of any dotnetnuke features such as security, role permissions, skinning etc. You can download the developers guide @ http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Documentation/DownloadableFiles/tabid/478/Default.aspx . I also recommend you read the tutorials @ http://dotnetnuke.adefwebserver.com/DotNetNuke/tabid/195/Default.aspx (http://dotnetnuke.adefwebserver.com/DotNetNuke/tabid/195/Default.aspx demonstrates a really simple module)
