I installed DNN using the auto-install process - a sublimely easy install. Everything seemed to go well but when I tried to go back open the DNN project in VWD its just responsive I can't get it to open; there are no error messages - nothing - it justs sits there. I tried it twice. Where do I go from here?

please be more specific - which OS and Web Server are you on?

Which package did you install and what do you try to open.

Cheers from Germany,

Sorry - VIsta Business, 4.91, I think it was (not 5.0) Startup Package. I created a DNN project just as I would with any project in VWD. Clicked on it to open  but nothing happened - it seems like it tries to open briefly and then stops.

My hosting company runs an Apache server with Chilisoft software. I'm just playing around in Visual Web Developer - haven't tried to publish. (Am I answering the question correctly?)

The Visual Web Developer package is from 2008 and contains all the standard aspects of that package - the 2005 database and the 2008 VWD and VS programs. etc - if that matters. At one point it did ask me if I wanted to create the application on the asp.net 3.5 framework or the 2.0 - I put 3.5.

Are you using IE or FF to view the site?  If there is a redirect loop, IE will sit there dumbly, apparently doing nothing.  FF will tell you straight away there is a problem.

JK.
