Hi,

Just today I received an email notificaion from my dotnetnuke board informing me that a new comment was posted to one of my blog entries. Unfortantly it was generated in the wrong language. Despite the fact that I've set up my admin user account with english  it was written in the browser language of the user (dutch).

Do I miss a configuration setting?

Thanks

Hi Christopher,

no, you don't miss any setting. The comment notification email is sent using the resource of the language that is being used when adding the comment. This task may be enhanced using the email receiver's culture. I will check the source code to see if this may easily be included. Thank you for posting.

Best regards,
Dario Rossa

Ciao Dario,

Yes, to use the receiver culture makes a lot more sense. I've posted an answerd to the provided comment. Now I received an email notification telling me that I received a new comment, guess what, it's mine.

Maybe it's possible to filter out those "comments" made by the mail receiving person.. not that bad at all, but unnecessary, right?

Another thing related to blogs.. I'm missing the rss categories which allows me to "group" posts to topics and key words. Is there any reason why you don't generate/support rss categories?

Best regards,
Chris

Hi Chris,

yes, we could also remove comment notifications for the blog owner himself. This may reduce mail server traffic for useless content. As you may probably have noticed, this happens also to forums.

Best regards,
Dario Rossa
