Hi All,

I converted my module from asp.net 1.1 to asp.net 2.0 (from vs 2003 to vs 2008). One problem that i keep facing is the following:

in my ascx file when i double click on a button to enter code in the click event, i keep getting the event in the html between script tags.

I searched the net for a solution and i found that you need to change Codebehind to CodeFile. I did this change and it worked i was able to enter code in cs file.

However the module stopped working giving me errors that look like this "another partial declaration of this type exists", when i reverted to Codebehind the error was gone, however i had the previous problem of the events.

Anyone knows about this problem. By the way i am using a WAP.

Regards

Hey Ruben,

Can you check to make sure that you only have three files (ascx, codebehind, and designer) and not any extras. If you verify that the ascx codefile looks correct and also verify that the codebehind class name matches and are still having problems - you can delete any designer file (and especially any resx file that may be left over from VS2003) and then right click the ascx and "Convert to Web Application" to re-generate the proper designer file. This generally straightens things out.

Hope that helps,

Ian

Hi Ian,

Thanks for your reply, I managed to solve this one by doing the following..i opened the converted project file in Notepad, and i removed the tag <ProjectType> and i added <ProjectTypeGuids> which was taken from a newly created Web Application Project. When i opened the project i had the option 'Convert To Web Application Project' which arranged my designer classes etc.

Hope this helps anyone who needs to convert from 2003 - 2008 :)

Thanks a lot
