Looks like there is a packaging issue with the DNNMenuNavigationProvider for DNN5.  Specifically,

Website\Install\Provider\DNNMenuNavigationProvider_05.00.00_Install.zip

If you download the source version of the code and recompile the navigation provider you will have the updated version.

Has anybody got this to successfully get this working in DNN5 yet?

I've set up a default install, filled in about 12 empty pages at various levels, and attempted to get this working.  However, I keep getting an "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" error.  I've recompiled DNNMenuNavigationProvider and Webcontrols and copied the recompiled DLL over to the install to no effect - based on what Jon said I believe that I just needed to recompile the DNNMenuNavigationProvider but thought WebControls couldn't hurt.

Anyone have any luck with this, yet?

Rendermode does not work in DNN 5.0.0, it should in the upcoming DNN 5.0.1 update
