Hi all,

Ca someone tell how to detect programmaticly the current language using C# or VB ?

I tried : if (LanguagePackType.Core.GetTypeCode().ToString().Contains("fr") || LanguagePackType.Core.GetTypeCode().ToString().Contains("en"))

and it doesn't work.

I need a response

Thanx

Hi,

You can use the .NET generic way of getting current culture (DNN initializes the underlying .NET culture):

using System.Threading;
using System.Globalization;

CultureInfo currentCulture = Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentUICulture;

Thank you

Tha variable currentCulture has an attribute "Name"

Name is in the format : <regionCode-Country/Region>

currentCulture.Name.contains("en-Us|fr-FR|it-IT|...")

Thanks once again.

You're welcome Mehdi.

If you want to test only on the language part, we use the following:

CultureInfo currentCulture = Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentUICulture;

string languageCode = currentCulture.TwoLetterISOLanguageName.ToLowerInvariant();

if (languageCode == "fr")
