Hi all,

I got a problem and can't not find the resolution fo a long time. I used DNN5 & report module 5.0, I made a RDL report design file by MS SQL server 2008 report builder. When I choose the active visualizer as "Microsoft Reportviewer Visualizer", I got the problem no matter I set the report type to "local/server report) --> I uploaded the rdlc file for local used & made the configuration for server used. (and also I can manage my report on http://localhost/Reports/Pages/Folder.aspx & it works fine)

as below is the wrong message

A critical error has occurred.
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

any links for setup the Reportviewer Visualizer configuration or how can I deploy the rdlc to dnn report module? it's much appreciated for any help !!

Brgds, Melven

First off, let me apologise for the lack of documentation for the ReportViewer Visualizer.  It's probably the least tested component of the Reports Module, becuase prior to developing it, I had no experience with SQL Server Reporting Services or the ReportViewer control.

In Reports 5.1 (recently released), I changed the error handling in the ReportViewer Visualizer to log more information about errors, when they occur.  Perhaps you could upgrade and see if more details of your error are logged in the DNN Event Viewer?

Sounds good.  Remember that you must upgrade to Reports 5.1 to get proper error reporting.  There was a bug in 5.0 which prevented proper reporting from occuring.
