Hi all,

I am using DNN 4.9.1 in an Active Directory environment supporting one domain, let's call it domain A.

DNN is sitting on a server in domain A.

Upon login, I prepend the domain name and backslash ("A\") behind the scenes to the username from the login screen so users don't have to provide their domain.

This has worked great.

The client has now aqcuired another business, and I now have a new requirement to allow users from the other business' domain - domain B - to login to DNN.

I'll provide radio buttons on the login form to let the user specify which domain to use, and behind the scenes I'll prepend the correct domain name.

But a simple test to authenticate the user in domain B doesn't work.

I blanked out the AD Authentication Provider setting "RootDomain", but it still doesn't work.

What else do I need to do to get DNN to authenticate the user in domain B ?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Jason

I haven't had any experience in working with mutliple domains as I don't have the setup to but I do know there has to be a trust between the two. Is that the case here or are they two separate domains that don't have anything to do with each other?

Yes, a trust relationship has been established between them. We tried by clearing out the Root Domain (authenticatoin type is Delegation), but it still doesn't work. Is there anything else to try?

In the Active Directory authentication provider settings, there is also a "User Name" field with an account specified. Does this account need to exist in both domains ?

The account shouldn't have to exist in both domains but it would need to be able to authenticate against both.

I'll check at home tonight as I was doing some emailing back and forth with another user who was trying to get it setup for multiple domains last summer. I think I kept the emails for reference so if I can find them I'll post if there's anything significant.
