After a lot of troubleshooting I had noticed my client had set the events module to have a cache value of 600. I changed this to zero and the problem is fixed.

The only way to fix this was to go into the database and find the TabModules table. Then I had to find the events module record and change the cache settings to 0. Now things work super fast and use very little memory.

please log this into the public issue tracker (2nd from top) at support.dotnetnuke.com, so the events team may include the necessary settings to suppress this option for the module definition.

This was the root of some of the problems my client was having. I eventually remembered that Ventrian's NewsArticles acts up if you have cache settings set to anything but zero in the module or page and guessed that this could be a similar case.
