DNN noob here, so apologies in advance.

I am trying to develop a compiled module for customer testimonials.  I want one display user control that is a typical grid/list/repeater (on its own page), but I also want a "news scroll" like widget for the home page, that reads the same underlying data.

Do I have to create two modules or is there a way to have two view controls in the same module and display them separately?

If I do have to create two modules, is there a way to do that within the same project (one dll)?

Thanks.

Answering my own question:

My approach will be to include all display regions in one user control then determine which type to display in the module settings.

I will also have to define a "pull data from Module ID" for the module such that the "scrolling widget" instance of the module knows which other module to pull the underlying data from.
