My company has a installation of DNN running on our intranet.  Currently, we get to the site by going to http://servername/dnn.  We would now like to change it so that it is accessed by http://www.somethingcool.com or even http://somethingcool.com.

Is it truly as simple as adding a HTTP alias to the portal for the new url?  Or do we need to make some internal DNS changes for this to work?  Also, I have seen some reference to IIS Headers, but not sure if that applies or not.

Any help is appreciated.

In DNN, you only have to add the portal alias, in your network and on your IIS you need to make sure, that the new address is routed to the same web site.
