Hi I was wondering whether anyone else has encountered the following, the DNN installation is running really slow. I created a new portal and then created a blank page. Using firefox firebug i started to install modules and could see the page taking longer and longer to load (20 seconds). Then i removed all the modules and deleted the recycle bin. That page now with nothing on still takes over 10 seconds to load, I created another page with no modules which loads at 350ms, the blank module page has nothing on it and takes ages.

If anyone has encountered that, or knows what is going on behind DNN, if you could let me know or point me in the right direction.

Thanks

First, are you saying that if you create a new page in DNN and load it, that page loads faster than a new page with modules added and then deleted?  And is this on first access or every access?

DNN does have overhead, and you can tune the process to get better page loads.  Take a look at Mitch Sellers' recent blog post:
