I'm new to DNN and I'm more of a web producer and not a developer. So I'm trying to get through my install of DNN on my hosted account with Readyhosting and all was going really well until I got to the end. I followed the instructions from Mitch Sellers at http://www.mitchelsellers.com/blogs/articletype/articleview/articleid/251/installing-dotnetnuke-490-on-a-remote-host.aspx and initially had the install wizard turned off. What I got was a page with the DNN logo and it said "Site unavailable at this time. Check back later." I then enabled the install wizard in the web.config file and went to directly to it with my browser - you can see it here at http://kdgc.readyhosting.com/Install/InstallationWizard.aspx. The hosting provider was kind enough to change the settings so that we can see the actual error message.

Readyhosting is using MS SQL 2000. They don't give me an IP address or a fully qualified domain name to connect to as the database server name. I have just a single string server name. Here is the info in my web.config file (minus actual) uid/pwd:

<connectionStrings>
        <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2005 Express -->
        <add
          name="SiteSqlServer"
          connectionString="Data Source=.\SQLExpress;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|Database.mdf;"
          providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />
        <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2000/2005
    <add
      name="SiteSqlServer"
      connectionString="Server=VMSSQL01;Database=xxxx;uid=xxxxx;pwd=xxxxx;"
      providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />
   -->
    </connectionStrings>
    <appSettings>
        <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2005 Express - kept for backwards compatability - legacy modules   -->
        <add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Data Source=.\SQLExpress;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|Database.mdf;"/>
        <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2000/2005 - kept for backwards compatability - legacy modules
    <add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Server=VMSSQL01;Database=xxxxx;uid=xxxx;pwd=xxxx;"/>
    -->

Is there something I'm doing wrong that is obvious that someone could tell me how to correct?

Thank you in advance for any assistance you can give.

:o) Karen
