Hi,

i first upgrade my dnn from version 3.1 to 4.9.1 then i configure the Authentication module on all my child portals (around 30) and now i want all my intranet user to be auto authentify with their AD account. Everything work fine and 3 other DNN site (new one) i have but on the one i upgraded the user are sometime authentify and sometime not (around 75% of the time) and it's slow between each authentication, when user switch from a child portal to another it can take up to 10 sec. Sometime the user is created but not fill with AD info, and then the Display name stay blank,

I tryed alot of thing i upgraded the Authentication module i try to see any difference between my upgraded site and the new one... so far i can't make it work like i want.

Anyone saw or already fix this kind of behavior

thank you
fred

Fred were you running AD authentication on your 3.1 install before you upgraded or did you install it after you upgraded? Are you pointing to the same domain on each install or different ones? Is anything getting written to your IIS logs or DNN Eventviewer logs when there's a problem? I'm just trying to narrow down where we might start looking?

Hi,

I was not using AD Authentication in 3.1 and i did the update to 4.9.1 before anything else. I have 3 domains and the module list all 3 correctly. after looking carfully a the log i found that exception that is probably related.

When im configuring the authentication module a have absolutly no error. And if the user exist in the database for the portal he is trying to acces it will always be login correctly. The error seem to apear only for new user.

I'll have to do some hunting in the code behind to see if I can figure out what's happening here. At first glance it looks like it's having problems pulling the information out of that domain but then it should be doing so for all users and not just new ones.
