Hi John,

Are you able to qualify this some more. Is the a user logged onto the portal? Have you tried with the same user that has worked on XP/Server 2008? Are you sure this is a Vista error, or is that a co-incidence?

Thanks
Roger

Hi John,

Also, is this running on DNN5. I think there is a bug in DNN5 where the default language doesn't get set on initial install of the portal. You can check this in Admin/Site Settings/Advanced Settings/Other Settings. If this is blank, then I think this is your problem. If I remember correctly I had to enable a language via Admin/Extensions before the Default Language got set.

I'll try and code for it.

Cheers
Roger

Roger,

Yes, the portal is running on DNN5.  I have checked the default Language setting - English (United States).

My apologies for not defining the environment.  This portal functions as a company intranet using ActiveDirectory authentication (v5.0.1).  This module is being tested with logged in users (currently all of whom are either in the Administrators group or marked as a SuperUser).  What I thought was bizarre here was the host machine happens to be running WinSvr2008 which I presumed would load (or fail to load) culture settings the same as Vista.  Apparently, this is false because it works locally.

I cannot put my thumb on Vista as the culprit (although I would like to).  I can say that several dual-boot workstations (XP/Vista) behave the same. XP - no problems.  Thanks for taking a look at the issue.  In the grander scope of things, it isn't going to cause problems here as no one outside the development team uses Vista.

"Do... or do not... there is no try."  I couldn't resist.

Hi Roger

I replicated the page load error locally with the SuperUser account.  Sorry for overlooking that suggestion in your earlier post.  Moreover, the working users can load the page on Vista workstations.  (auto-login spoils me!)

Sorry to bother.
