there are sendmail overloads accepting arrays, others accept a string only, but you can submit a list of file names, separated by pipe "|" symbol.

HTH

Hi all,

I am also trying to send multiple attachments using the "DotNetNuke.Services.Mail.Mail.SendMail" function but the pipe character (shifted back-slash) is not working for me!

I searched but do not find any overloads accepting arrays for the attachment attribute and when I try using the pipe character to delimit the files I get an "DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Illegal characters in path." error on the call to Sendmail.  Below is a sample of the content of the variable I am sending.

"d:\websites\dnn_455\Portals\0\RFQ_Attachments\GetShipToZipCodeID_function.txt|d:\websites\dnn_455\Portals\0\RFQ_Attachments\SNET DNS.txt"

If I send only a single attachement (e.g. "d:\websites\dnn_455\Portals\0\RFQ_Attachments\GetShipToZipCodeID_function.txt") it works fine.  It appears that the Am I using the wrong method?  Or is it the wrong delimiter?

I even tried the "depreciated" SendNotifications method thinking Sebastian's instructions may have been for that.  No difference.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Nevermind (for now)...

I did some digging through the core code and I believe I found my answer (still have to verify this).  I have been compiling against version 4.5.5 of DNN for backward compatability (which I really don't need to do in this case).  It appears that the code that utilizes the "pipe" character was introduced in a version later than 4.5.5.  I found it in 4.9.0.  Now I just have to test against that version.

Hope this helps someone else.

Thanks Sebastian!

I decided to go with DNN 4.8.4 as my "base version" for this project and it works great.  We have a number of client sites on 4.8.4 forward and I want to make sure what I develop can be used on any client site should the need arise.  Thanks for the confirmation!

Best regards,

Chuck

Chuck,

due to security and other fixes as well as the ease of upgrades an no known compatibility problems you should convince all clients upgrading to DNN 4.9.4. It is the most stable version for a long time (I upgraded all my clients to it).
