I have been experimenting with uploading a new skin (making very minor changes to a css file). And as I uploaded the new skin - our entire site has crashed.

I can't even get into the site to login and delete the skin or do anything really. We even have another site (or another portal - and this too has gone down).

The strange thing is - I have uploaded the very same skin several times before and it has been working ok (all I have done is modify a couple of colours and re-zip and thats it)

Is there anything I can do to get the site up and running again? - a rollback or something?

The error I am getting is the standard runtime error:

..............................................................
Runtime Error

Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

..................................................................................

Thanks

mark.

if you have access to the file system, simply rename the skin folder (inside /Portals/_default/skins or /Portals/0/Skins) and the default skin will be used.

cheers Seb,

Before I got chance to do anything it just started working all by itself (after about 90 mins).

Then, when I logged in this morning the site was down again (without me changing anything - as it was working night before)
So I did what you advised (renamed skin) and restarted IIS - and this fixed it.

thanks,
mark.
