Hi,

I have a document module that uploads files to a folder called Stats that I created on my ROOT folder.

However, I was wondering how i access files in this folder for a SQLGridSelectedView Module?

At the moment, my connectionstring points to "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=C:\Hosting\Data\MyProject\stats.xls;Extended Properties="Excel 8.0"

i thought maybe i add \stats\ between MyProject and the filename but this did not work. It appears that the folder i added under ROOT is not located here

I was wondering if there is something i can put in my connectionstring to point at the file im my "Root\stats" folder?

Thanks

Andy,

The folder location is as follows considering a Stats folder in the root.

<rootPath>\Portals\<PortalId>\Stats\<File>

<rootPath> = Installation directory for DNN
<PortalId> = The Id of the current portal
<File> = Your file name

Hope that helps!

You have two Root directories.

The one we use globally is your hosting account root, and another is Portal Root. Your Module uses Stats directory under Portal Root, not web root. So you should look at Portal Root directory instead of root directory of your hosting account.

Usually portal roots are directories like Portals/0, Portals/1,...
