I seem to recall reading that DNN5's skinning system is now a host-level only feature, I believe it was for security reasons. However, I'm curious how this will work for those who host on services like GoDaddy that only allow admin level access, and to get host-level, you need to purchase their dedicated server plan which would significantly shift the monthly cost upwards for many hobbyists / non-volume DNN Designers / Developers.

Thoughts?

My apologies if this has been discussed before, the forum search kinda sucks still.

I recommend that you move away from GoDaddy, simple as that.

I run on GoDaddy fine on a shared hosting platform and get host access.

You can even use their value applications to install DNN; then move it to the root of your domain all with host access.

No issues with godaddy other than the fact they are most mentioned in these forums ;)

Agreed, however as I occaisionally find myself taking on jobs where the customer is already setup at GoDaddy I find myself forced to use them. However, given the choice I would sooner use anyone else.
