Hello everybody,

I'm brand new to this community and I'm facing a very emberrassing problem.
I forgot the pw of the host superuser. I searched the web and found the easy solution where I change the pw right on the database.

But I still can't connect with the user "host" using the new pw.
Is it possible that I gave the superuser a different name than "host" or is that unchangable?

Does anyone have an advice how I can reactive my superuser again?

It's possible you used a different name than host but only you can say for sure (it's a step when you setup DNN with the wizard). Do you have another account that you can log into the portal with? If so then I think this would work.

  1. Open the Users table in the database.
  2. Find your normal portal account.
  3. Set IsSuperUser to True or 1.
  4. Log into the portal with that account.
  5. Under Host->Host Accounts you should be able to now set the password on the old host account.
  6. Test that you can now log in with the Host account.
  7. Reset IsSuperUser in the Users table back to False or 0 on the other username.
