Trying to get DNN 5.0.0 running on Windows 7.  I've followed all the advice I can find (setting trust to High) etc.

.Net 3.5 is installed (for Ajax) and SQL Express 2005 SP2 is alos installed.  All of that seems to be fine.

The error I am getting is:

HTTP Error 500.19 - Internal Server Error

The requested page cannot be accessed because the related configuration data for the page is invalid.

In particular, it is pointing at this from the web.config file:

66: </modules>

67: <handlers>

68: <add name="AJAX_ScriptResourceHandler" path="ScriptResource.axd" verb="GET,HEAD" type="System.Web.Handlers.ScriptResourceHandler, System.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35" preCondition="integratedMode,runtimeVersionv2.0" />

I'll keep trying things, but if anyone has an idea, please let me know.

Cheers

 Hi Dave,

I'm not sure it is possible to run DotNetNuke on windows 7 yet.  Windows 7 is still beta, and although a really nice platform (we have a number of guys at the office trying it out) I don't think that DotNetNuke has been adequately tested or even tested at all on it.  If you have a Vista/2008/2003/XP machine, I would recommend using one of those instead because I think you'll find a lot more documentation on how to set it up on those.

I have yet to be able to get DNN 5.0.0 running on Windows 7 as well.  Though for your error here you should find a relevant entry in the event log that may help.  Most of these are permission errors (you don't post the full error so it's hard to diagnose...) and result from the IIS_IUSRS group not having permission to the application folders.  That cropped up in IIS 7 and Vista/Server 2008 because of locked down permissions.

Post the full error on www.iis.net for help configuring IIS.

Jeff

Try to run DNN in a application pool that runs under Network Service.

Or use the new ApplicationPoolidetity for DNN folders.

Jan

ps. This will be the case in Vista Servicepack 2 too ds
