Hi,

I am trying to install source version on my Vista Ultimate with VS 2008 SP1 and SQL Server 2008 Dev. I created a new web site with path
.....\Source\Dotnetnuke_Website and port 80 (basically outside wwwroot).
I then created a web application with a virtual path dotnetnuke_cambrian pointing to
......\Source\5.0.0\DotNetNuke_05.00.00_Source\Website
I properly set the permisions on both file system (Website folder - I didn't set any permissions for a web site folder for Dotnetnuke_Website folder) for "network service" account full access
and DB as db_owner for "network service" account.
I am getting an install error inside: DotNetNuke.UI.Utilities.MSAJAX.Serialize method.

Obviously I do have Ajax installed (via VS 2008 architect edition). I even copied system_web folder from unter wwwroot to a new web site folder.

Please advise.

Thanks,
Rad

Are you sure it's actually installed on the machine itself?

Try clearing browser, cache and cookies and restarting IIS.

Had this same problem just now. I initialy copied and renamed the development.config to web.config and got this same error. The solution ran when I removed that and copied and replaced the release.config file to web.config. I now get the normal setup wizard for the site. I'm not sure what the development.config file si missing yet but I hope that helps.

I'm not sure either, I always run development.config as web.config on my test environment and it works fine, but I'm using XP.

This is my first Source Setup with DNN 5, figured I would get the whole frustration curve thing behind me and do it on Windows 7 with VS 2008 Sp1. So maybe it is and OS thing. I have an XP Dev virtual machine laying about on the HD somewhere so I'll try giving that a shot and see if it's an OS, or maybe IIS 6 vs IIS 7 or somthing.
