I have had (and resolved) this problem before and I am fairly certain I am just being a little stupid/forgetful at the moment.

Here is my problem/issue:

I have installed dnn ver 4.9 on a Windows 2000 server with SQL 2000.   The installation went fine without any hitches.

I can browse to the installation locally without any problem.  When I try to browse to the installation from a remote computer however I get a "page can not be displayed" error message.  I have reviewed all the rights and permissions but obviously I am missing something.

I installed dnn to the C:\inetpub\wwwroot\dnn\ folder.  I gave the ASPNET user full control over the dnn folder and all it's child folders.

As I said I have been here before and figured it out. Unfortunately, I didn't make any notes on what the fix was.

Thanks for any help/ideas.

Jerry, you need to login to your site (locally) and add another Portal Alias to the admin/site settings page. The alias should be the external address such as http://machinename/dnn if that is how you are trying to access the site. If you only have one alias, http://localhost/dnn/ the remote machines are being redirected to localhost, which isn't likely to work as that would point to their local machine, not the webserver.
