But aliases tend to confuse me for some reason...

My dnn portal alias is www.mycompany.com/website
I have a redirect set up out side dnn that takes people who use just www.mycompany.com  to www.mycompany.com/website
When someone clicks on the dnn logo they are taken to http://www.mycompany.com/website/Default.aspx
The full url of my home page is http://www.mycompany.com/website/Home/tabid/72/Default.aspx
I have a 3rd party module on my home page that is only working when the full home page url with tabid is used. So, my goal is to send people to the full url no matter what method they use to get there. My understanding is that the link the dnn logo uses comes from the portal alias setting. However, I don’t think I can change that to the full home page url without causing site wide issues right? So is the only other option to include a logo in the page skin with the full url?
Thanks
Mike

Not exactly.  DNN will only accept a portal URL that exists as a portal alias, otherwise it redirects to the first alias, often "localhost", which isn't accessible from outside the physical server.  The easiest method for you might be to use the outside service to redirect as you wish and ensure the portal alias has that URL that requests are directed to.

But, a proper module shouldn't behave the way you describe.  You might want to check with the developer to see what's wrong.

Hrm. So if I understand you correctly I should create a portal alias for the full home page url and go ahead with the same full home page url in the outside service redirect? I may have misinterpereted that.

I think the module isn't working properly because I have a somewhat screwey site set up having that extra "website" directory.

Thanks
Mike
