I have been looking around for a way to display on the front page of a client site the most viewed content or the most popular.  Yes I know there are modules that track visitors and I know there are rating modules.  But I want a clean simple way to display for the users what is the most viewed/popular content.  I would write this myself if I had the time but the client needs the site quickly so I was hoping that someone could point me in the right direction.

Thanks

Russ

I haven't tried this but for $9 it's well worth a look:

Otherwise (for a quick fix) I'd say cook up your own SQL query to count page hits in your SITELOG and use the REPORT module to display results.

EDIT:   That's not a very efficient use of your DB (and is probably what the $9 module does) so you'll also want to play with the module's CACHE settings and maybe set it to refresh only every few hours.
