Jeff,

Windows 7's application pools are setup to run under the identity called

ApplicationPoolIdentity

I would imagine that 2008R2 is doing the same thing.

I've yet to figure out where this account exists or gets generated so that you can run properly. I've found it easier for now just to change the app pool to run as Network Service.

I'm not saying this is the best solution, but for those two days of headaches that the original poster has had, it can be an easy solution to get up and running.

If you're planning to host it on a shared hosting provider, note that most hosts will not allow full trust. If they allow full trust (bad idea), anyone on that server has full control over your site.
