And here is another tip -

If you are going to add in the portal alias - eg.. the live site address to the local db, when you get the live url working - turn OFF the local one BEFORE you try to view the live one - because what commonly happens, is DNN will look for the first entry - and if it's running, guess what happens - you get this infinite type loop running to the local machine.

However, having the site turned off locally first AND the portal alias (new url) in portal alias table you'll fin that it will hep you.

just a suggestion - since I've been caught with that before in the olden days.

After a day of self inflicted headaches I finally got the damn  thing to work, mounted and all.
