Hello,

I'm using Users-online 3.1 within DNN 4.8.2.

I wonder how to read the stats. Most of my visitors do not logon and are just visitors.
I have the Users Online set to 5 mins.

Does this mean that the number of visitors are unique visitors of the past five minutes or can it be that users who visit the site a second or third time within 5 mins are seen as 2 or three visitors?

users are identified by IP address or cookie

make sure, PurgeUsersOnline is running frequently (there is also a setting in host settings) , otherwise it will not eliminate users who are not present any longer. even with 5 minutes set it may take up to 15 minutes, until a user, who left gets removed.

Hello Sebastian,

Thank you for your response!

PurgeUsersOnline runs every single minute.

So when I set Usersonline to 5 mins, I see the real amount of unique visitors who visited the site over the past 5 mins?

Or should I set the PurgeUsersOnline also to 5 mins?

please take into account that there is also a latency time to be set in host settings, you need to take into account additioanlly.

Hello Sebastian,

Thank's again for your response but you've lost me. Latency time ???

Maybe you can tell me what the three setting should be?

Lets say I want to see the ammount of visitors over the past 15 min.

Do I set the mins in the Users-online module to 15, PurgeUsersOnline to 15 and the Latency time(?) to 15?
(Where can I find 'Latency time"?)

Thanks so much,
Bert
