For Much of today I’ve been unable to start a new thread in any of the www.dotnetnuke.com forums, getting:

“An error has occurred.
Error: Add/Edit Post is currently unavailable.”

The solution that eventually appeared to resolve this was to select: My Settings > Tracking/Subscription > tick all checkboxes > Update > un-tick all checkboxes > update, and suddenly I can post again! (These actions where suggested in a forum thread dated 2007 on another site).

Maybe its just teething problems with the new site, but others were posting without issue during this period…

Issue with the forum module perhaps? Anyone else have this problem?

Many thanks

it's a known issue in the forums (AFAIR it happens if your user has posted on a thread that had a post from a user who deleted their user account when the forum thread was being moderated). It's being fixed for the new version.

Cathal,

the user is talking about the forums here on DotNetNuke.com. there have been a few other users faced this issue before, but I don't know, how to solve it (maybe Rodney Joyce can tell, he faced this problems for a couple of months).

Thanks Sebastian, I know it's these forums. The workaround was posted in the first post of this thread (the problem exists in tracking non-existant users)
