Is there any rule for keeping all the interface strings. I don't want to install additional language packs. I want just to take an editor, and traslate the most visible strings.

Thanks,
jacekw

The biggest issue here would be in an upgrade overwriting the .resx files that store everything.

If you made the changes under "Admin" -> "Languages" rather than "Host" -> "Languages" I can't imagine much of a big deal with it.

If you do your changes under Host -> Languages you can make a choise to check the Host box not the System box.

Then you can change the values for that installation, the values will not be overwritten. The changes will then be on all portals.

If you do the changes in Admin -> Languages the changes will be it just in the site in question.

you need to install the proper language packs for DNN core framework and installed modules. Check out the LP directory and your local user group for available language packs. To install, use Languages in Host menu (DNN4) or Admin Menu (DNN 5.1).
