I have 3 websites, two of them will be ready to go live very soon. At the moment, because I didn't have the domain names when I originally set them up I chose the child portal option. I have read that to change them to a parent - so that they have the new domain name URL  you just need to add a the new domain name URL for them into the Alias field and then they will become a parent automatically .

I am just wanting to make sure I have got this right.

  1. Is this all I need to do?
  2. Does this automatically change all the pages I currently have within the child portal to the new domain name?

I want to be certain that I am doing the right thing -I have a lot of content within these child portals - I would hate to trash my content within these web sites because I wasn't clear about what I need to do.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Sarah

Sarah,

Yes, you are 100% correct.

The only last thing would be if you want to eventually remove the old portal alias for the child portal to prevent content from being served to the old URL.
