Why do I get so many application shutdown?  Up to 7 per day and maybe more!

Thanks,

Eric

please check out the server's Windows Application Event log, it might be caused by inactivity recycle of the IIS application pool. You might want to adopt recycle settings for the app pool to avoid this. I prefer to restart once in the night and on resource limits reached only.

My DNN is on shared host (DiscountASP.Net), can this still be done?

Thanks,
Eric

Eric,

First of all only 7 shutdowns isn't that big of a deal for management.  As for modifying the timeout value, that is something that you will most likely NOT be able to change.  (typically they don't allow it.)

on shared hosting you might want to use a tracking service (e.g. host-tracker.com), pinging your site every 15 mins to avoid it being unloaded due to inactivity.
