I'm running DNN 5.0.1. I cannot upload the skin using ftp method. Under 5.0.0 I would upload the skin (ZIP file) to DNNroot/install/skin folder and then run mydomain/install/install.aspx?mode=InstallResources. I get success message, but the new skin is nowhere to be found. On the same token, I cannot delete the existing skin in DNN 5.0.1 the way it used to work in 5.0.0.Is anyone else experiencing these issues?

Thanks! Jake

I have this exact same problem now, and I notice no one has suggested a solution to your post yet. The skin I have to install is a very large file and always times out during normal installation, so the install option recommended is the ftp option. However, just like Jake, after installing using InstallResources, I get the success message but no skin.

What could be the problem?

Thanks, Daniel

Did you try this with a DNN 4 or a DNN 5 skin pack?

You cannot do this with a DNN 4 style zipped up skin / contianer package, only with a DNN 5 skin pack.

Hmm, I just tried this with a DNN 5 skin and you are correct, it seems like it does not work.

Could you please log this in the issue tracker? (support.dotnetnuke.com)

Thanks
