I always get a critical error "timeout" on 99% of my searches.  Anyone else have any better luck

Don't worry, that's just a feature of DotNetNuke. You need to utilize google, specifically the site:www.dotnetnuke.com your search terms

Hopefully now the project is funded we won't have to wait years for the simple bugs to get resloved OR they could just actively promote development on the core with a published source code repository.

Well, Oliver is a bit mean here, but I can do nothing but agree....
Search tool is something so important, and it's been ruined by some (I believe, "small") problem since ages..

These are the small, tough critical, things that move people to joomla and other cms ...

I'm not trying to move people away from DotNetNuke. I'm just sick of the bugs that have plagued the platform for years. So, maybe if I keep making the point for a development trunk someone will notice and we'll finally get it. If a side effect of my negativity is users leaving to other CMS, I do apologize. I do at least try and post a solution to the problem with my rants...
