I downloaded the new 5.00.01 Install, cleared out the database and web folder. After having a few niggles with installation (it never goes just right) i realised that the Text/HTML module had not installed. I went to the new extensions page via the menu's and also the "Install" in the view/edit/design part and there was no text/html installed.

So i downloaded the latest extension only to find there is no upload extension in the extensions page.

Anybody got any idea?

Login as a super user (host) and go to the Host Extensions page, you should find the Install Extension Wizard there. If not you've got something else hosed, perhaps you're in View mode, not Edit?
