I have tryed for years to get some understanding to use  standards in DotNetNuke in the skinning area. I have always got the answer we will, but as nobody in the corporation seems to think this is an important question so I asume it will be a standardless future as well.

With the new Newsletter module and now in release 5.0.x some pages must be 760px width. Its ok but then why not use it all over and tell those that like smaller width to use an other system. That a lot of skins will brake seems not to be an issue for some core teams member. I think there is a lack of leadership not to put a standard in place before developing modules and core parts. Personally I like smaller width and so do a lot of others too but thats not the big issue. The big issue is the lack of understanding.

Well dotn have opinions here but ive overcome this for a cleitn by using jquery to find all tags with width attribute set to 760px and reset it to anothr width

In next release maybe a new page is added and have 780 or 945 who knows...

There is always a way to correct the shortcomming but thats not my poiint.

Maybe I should add that this is a bigger issue in rel 5, due to the fact that  admin pages use the normal skin not the Edit skin.

Jan, I noticed this as well, and I agree, that we need to discuss this in the core team.

Cheers from Germany,
