I'm pretty sure that I know the answer is "no," but I thought this group could help point me in the right direction.

I work for a non-profit with 2 levels of membership.  The president puts out letters at various times of the year, with about 90% of the letters being for all members.  However, about twice a year, she puts out letters that are intended strictly for one level of membership or the other.  She is adamant that neither level of membership should see the others letters.  My office usually receives these letters after they've been printed off the original word document and scanned back in to PDF (it's a long story).  Going forward, I would like the president (or her assistant or whoever) to be able to post these letters themselves.

The documents module doesn't seem to have a per-document permission setting and as much as I hate posting things in two places, I know the end-user will hate it more.  Is there a documents module that does per-document settings or a way to finagle the current documents module into doing this?

*EDIT* I am aware of GumboSoft's Secure downloads, but that seems like total overkill for what I'm trying to accomplish.

I'm not aware of one, but I'll keep my eyes peeled.

Check out document exchange 5 from bring2mind.  You can find it on snowcovered.com.  Great module for document level security.

If you are only dealing with 2 roles - why not just have 3 documents modules.

One for everyone, and another for each of the 2 roles.

If it was much more than 2 roles, I'd go with the above mentioned document module, I have version 4 on a site - works good. but might be a little overkill for what you need. They have demo's, so try it out first.

@Baatezu:  I thought about what you're suggesting.  The problem is that I have approx 50 documents.  Of those 50, 46 belong to both roles.  Of the remaining 4, 3 belong to one role and 1 to another.

Also, I did end up going with Gumbosoft.  And have since purchased another module from Gumbosoft.  They (he?) provides really great service and has some pretty cool modules.
