The scheduled task for purge log buffer fails with a timeout at 30-31 sec. Timeouts in web.config and at the server are set much longer than that. Any idea why it would not complete? And can anyone help me find the sql this task runs so it can be run manually?

David,

The timeout that is providing the error is the timeout of the SqlHelper's SQL Connection object.  This connection timeout is set at 30 seconds, and it is not something that can be reconfigured without a rebuild of the "Microsoft.ApplicationBlocks.Data.dll" file.  (I do have an updated dll with a 60 second timeout if you want it).

However, I would say that you having this timeout is an issue that you want to address.  Typically you will see an error here when the eventLog table is too large.  I would look at the size of the EventLog table, and would consider truncating the table.

On a regular basis I truncate my event log (Every 24 hours) to keep the db size down.

to truncate EventLog, enter the following statement into the textarea in Host :: SQL:

TRUNCATE TABLE {databaseOwner}{objectQualifier}EventLog

Clicked Run As Script then Execute, and this returned a successful result. Thanks Sebastian & Mitch!
