Hi

Using repositary module, i want to download few video files.

Even though i have put the files to be imported in root or cache or template folder of portal, when i click import file option,  no file appears in dropdown list for files.

using upload  or moderate option also, i could not import files in to this module

As a host or admin, when i click upload option inside repositary module, a dialog box opens in which a video file is browsed and chosen and  image file is browsed for display purpose, and give title and description details and when clicking upload, the file does not uploaded, instead it says since you are the moderator, you don't need to request for moderation.

I just want to import video files, image files, with title and description in the repositary module so that when the page loads, user can see files available for

download with description details and ratings and comments option and user should be able to download files.

But i could not  import files to be downloaded inside the repositary module.

Any suggestions or solutions. pls rply asap.

Thanks,

Swaminathan,

Web Application Engineer

Do not use Import. Import is used to create a new repository modules based on settings Exported from another Repository module. It is an XML file that contains all the settings of a module.

The way to upload files is to use the Upload button within the Repository module, which  you said you have done. It sounds like it is working. The file is uploaded and since you are logged in using a 'trusted' account, Admin or Host, the upload does not require moderation and the file should be immediately available. You have not said what happens when you go back to the Repository module after uploading the file. Are no files displayed? is there an error?  In the module settings what roles have you selected for the Download, Comment and Rating settings? Also, what Repository template (skin) are you using, the default one? Nifty Video?

You might want to take a look at the Admin/User's Guide for the Module which you can download on the Project's Downloads page.

Hi steve,

It is working now.

All Permission settings were already given correctly. but video file which i was trying to upload earlier was not supported by dnn and hence uploaded files were not displayed and it was just coming blank with no error and also i did not check the following checkbox "store uploaded files in user folder".

Once i chose a swf video file and checked store uploaded file option checkbox, i could see uploaded files with description details and i could download it as well.

Thanks for your help,

Swaminathan.
