Using godaady as the hosting provider.  When using their file manager or through DNN itself, i am unable to load html files to the site and have them recognized.   If i use filezilla, I can uplaod the file, but when trying to get DNN to place it in a module, I get the following error message:

The File d:\hosting\wpasection\dnn\Portals\0\files\EH\matches\2009\2009-March.htm Is A Restricted File Type. Valid File Types Include ( *. template, *.docx, *.xlsx, *.pptx, *.swf, *.jpg, *.jpeg, *.jpe, *.gif, *.bmp, *.png, *.doc, *.xls, *.ppt, *.pdf, *.txt, *.xml, *.xsl, *.css, *.zip ). Please Contact Your Hosting Provider If You Need To Upload A File Type Which Is Not Supported.

Godaddy says it is not them.  i feel it is, but need to make sure before resuming my efforts with them.

what are you trying to accomplish? HTML files cannot be placed inside modules - you may either link to an html file or paste content of (part of) the html body into a text/HTML module.

The specific error message is from the File Manager, and it tells you that it is not configured to let you upload html files.  You can go to Host Settings and add html as a file extension that can be uploaded.

But, you can't put an html file in a module.

The html file is a web page that I want to link to.  it consists of multiple pages with hyperlinks to take users to several different areas.  This file has been succesfully used by others on webpages and will work when I open it in either firefox or IE.  It has worked on other hosted pages.

I was unaware I could set those exteensions in host settings.  i'll have to look at that again.

Many thanks.

you might upload html files using FTP or hosting panel, DNN file upload is for content files and documents only, limited for security purposes.
