Okay, how lame am I?  (I am so lame that I can't even get to the install step....)

I have a newly installed win2k3 box with sql server 2005 installed, I unzip DNN 4 into a directory in Inetpub, create a virtual directory for it, set it to the dir I created and dumped the contents to, made sure there's an app name, I set permissions for Network Service on the directories it tells me to and I still get the

The page cannot be found

error.  I know it's looking in the right place because I can see a test.html page I put in there, so I know

http://localhost/testSite/ is working.  I even went into properties and on the documents tab, put in Default.aspx and moved it up to the top of the list.

Is there any major reason I can't see the directory?  Asp 2.0 is installed.  The only thing I haven't tried is installing v3 of DNN.

I'm just wondering if there's anything blantantly obvious that I am missing.  I'm just wondering if this even has anything to do with my web.config file.

Thanks!

Have you tried going in to your IIS Manager and setting the Web Service Extensions to allow Active Server Pages and Unknown ISAPI pages?  I was having the same problem and that fixed it.  Apparently IIS6 views these as security risks and disables them by default.

Hope this helps.
