Hi,
one of our customers is experiencing a lot of users, that register more than once - probably because they lost their username and their password, or were just to busy to use the reminder function. Anyway: His question is, if we could merge the dublicate accounts into one (based on their email), using the email as username, so they won't forget.
Has anyone experience with merging user accounts based on their email? Is there some build in DNN functionality to assist or some third party tool?

its an issue that has been on my radar for some time now, and i still plan to create a module to do this.. However, it is a major feat to merge users, since it is unknown up front what tables (of third party modules) use userid's to identify user specific data. Which means that such a module would need to do a complete analysis of the dnn database prior to start making changes....
